The Future |
We believe the future of medical care
is within these pages. Rather than the current "health care" system
that treats symptoms, our approach is preventive, person-centered,
integrative and holistic, with a multidisciplinary approach to reach the
source of illness — psycho, spiritual and physical — to achieve
true health care.

|
It took nearly eight
years to bring our concept of Health Medicine into clinical
practice. In November of 2001, a group of practitioners joined in
with co-founders, Len Saputo, Kay Sandberg, and Robert Leppo to open
the Health Medicine Center (HMC) in Lafayette, CA. Presently, the
HMC has eleven physicians and practitioners that are successfully serving patients
in Walnut Creek, CA.
The Health Medicine
Forum remains active in both presenting seminars that exemplify the
integrative approach to exploring healthcare issues, as well as in
continuing the training of healthcare professionals interested in
learning to practice Health Medicine. For more information about our
programs please visit the “Events” section of this website.

| “We
strive to keep an open mind about the nature of health
and healing, knowing that the way that is familiar to us
is not the only way with value. Our willingness to
stretch beyond our traditional training and remain open
to new possibilities from disciplines other than our own
has made it possible to synthesize new and exciting
treatment strategies. It is through this type of synergy
that we have explored in the exchange of what initially
seemed like separate healthcare languages, and have
merged into a community of healers.” — Len Saputo, MD
