Michael J.
Buchele, M.D.
is a board certified Emergency
Physician, as well as board certified in Internal
Medicine. He graduated from the University of Texas in
Austin with a B.A. major in Microbiology and minors in
Chemistry and Physics. He graduated from the University
of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and did
his Internal Medicine Residency in Salt Lake City, Utah,
where he began to moonlight in the emerging field of
Emergency Medicine. In 1975 he moved to the Bay Area
California, to “try” emergency medicine, and has
continued to work in this field ever since.
In
1976, through his friend Frank Barr, M.D., he met Arthur
and Ruth Young, and began to attend the seminars that
Arthur held at the Institute For the Study of
Consciousness in Berkeley. He realized the significance
of Arthur Young’s discovery of the Theory of Process (“ToP”),
and he worked with Jack Saloma to help edit Frank Barr’s
groundbreaking application of ToP into the mysteries and
importance of the melanin molecule (especially
neuromelanin) in Dr. Barr’s “Melanin: the Organizing
Molecule” and “Melanin and the Mind/Brain Problem.” He
is currently working with Frank and his wife Judy to
edit Frank’s upcoming book on his Theory of BioProcess
(“ToBP”), tentatively called “From Light to
Enlightenment, From Physics to Metaphysics.”
Mike
has tried to balance his “real world” ER work and
experiences, with the ability Emergency Medicine has
given him, to get time off in which to do further
research into the fields of interest stimulated by
Arthur Young’s ToP. He is currently a member of the
board of directors of the Institute for the Study of
Consciousness (ISC), which (like the Anodos Foundation)
is dedicated to the further study and application of
Arthur Young’s remarkable ToP. One of the recent ISC
projects was to create a “ToP Poster” that can be used
by students of ToP to access the essential data from
Arthur’s incredible books, “The Reflexive Universe” and
the “Geometry of Meaning.”
Mike is
on the board of directors of CSPS (the California
Society of Psychical Studies), as well as the board of
directors of OPUS (the Organization of Paranormal
Understanding and Support). While he enjoys attending
the yearly Bay Area UFO Conference, he tries to balance
this by also being a member of the Bay Area Skeptics. (A
longtime fan of the X-Files TV show, he notes his brain
contains both a Fox Muldar “believer” and a Dana Scully
“skeptic” side.) He is also a member of the Society of
American Magicians (SAM), primarily to learn how easily
one can be fooled into thinking something is “magic”
when it is actually a sophisticated illusion that
operates on real world science. (He doesn’t rule out
true magic, and he doesn’t claim to know all the
“secrets” of stage magic.) He is also a member of IONS
(the Institute of Noetic Sciences) and a long time
member of ISSSEEM (the International Society for the
Study of Subtle Energy and Energy Medicine).
As for
his medical career, he has served as founder of the
Department of Emergency Medicine at Mt. Diablo Medical
Center in Concord, California; the Chairman of the
Emergency Department; and the Director of the Emergency
Department. In 2003 he served as Chief of Staff of Mt.
Diablo Medical Center, after serving previously as the
Chairman of the Disaster Committee, the Chairman of the
Credentials Committee, the Secretary- Treasurer and then
the Vice Chief of Staff at Mt. Diablo. Currently he is
Chairman of the Physicians Advisory Committee to the
Information Technology Services and is involved in
bringing updated computer technology to the hospital and
especially to the Emergency Department. He is a
long-time Apple Macintosh fan, and a champion of “open
source” computing. |
Bob
Whitehouse, EdD

is a licensed psychologist,
emeritus professor of psychology, consultant, and
B.C.I.A. Senior Fellow certificant in biofeedback with
over 30 years in that field. In 1974 he started one of
the first college biofeedback programs in the country.
Since 1984 he has been in private practice in
biofeedback, psychotherapy, and optimal performance
coaching in Boulder and Denver, Colorado, specializing
in managing pain and health problems, stress, anger,
depression, driving and other anxieties, injury, TMJ,
trauma, and sleep problems. He uses state-of-the-art
biofeedback including monitors for breathing (ETCO2) and
heart rate (rate, variability, and spectral analysis).
He has developed a fourth way of getting ideal Heart
Rate Variability and optimal breathing as measured by
ETCO2 and is starting a new center called Optimal Living
Institute. He also helps educate about and promote
S.P.E.C.T brain imaging with Brain Matters Inc.
Dr. Whitehouse is also a consultant and speaker on
biofeedback, heart rate variability and capnometry,
stress, pain, evolving human potentials, and insurance
and legislative issues, having chaired Insurance,
Legislative, and Coding Issues committees and been on
the Board of Directors for the Association for Applied
Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB). Along with four
other leaders in biofeedback, he recently gave a
Congressional Briefing and presented at a Science Forum
for policy makers in Washington, DC.
Mentored by Arthur Young and Jean Houston, Bob
Whitehouse’s passion is the works of Arthur Young and
his dynamic toroidal model of the universe that
reconciles quantum and relativity theory in the 7 stage,
4 level, downward outward and inward upward spirals
showing evolution and involution in all their forms as
the evolution of consciousness.
In 1979
Bob synchronistically discovered Arthur Young’s Theory
of Process (ToP) in The Reflexive Universe and Geometry
of Meaning and immediately began integrating that
message with the works of Jean Houston and Ken Wilber.
In Young’s theory Bob found answers to the big questions
and dichotomies in science, religion, philosophy,
psychology, physics, and astrophysics. He has offered
college courses and workshops in Explorations in Human
Potentials with this material, finding it the most
provocative, evocative, and exciting material he has
shared. Bob is writing a message book about this and
it’s implications for understanding what’s going on and
what’s trying to take place. His proposed book title is
The Torus Project---With Heart and Breath, Living Only
Love. He offers workshops and talks on how this applies
to our mindbody system (our BodyEmotionSpiritThought
team) and our extended human potentials.
His
work includes the deeper understanding of how Coherent
Frequencies in the heart rate (with special thanks to
the Institute of HeartMath, Wild Divine, and Better
Physiology) and chemically efficient breath correlate
with increased health and longevity, increased cognitive
function, increased immune function, heartfelt feelings
and communication, opening of intuition, and greater
sense of purpose. He agrees with the comment attributed
to Karl Pribram, MD that developing heart frequency
coherence seems to give access to “a quantum,
holographic, information field” that is outside our
normal sense of space and time. Bob sees this as
correlating with understandings of Young’s Theory of
Process.
